Every family has a fault line.
Most just learn how to step over it.
In Hidden District, it runs between a mother, and a daughter who stopped recognizing each other... and between two sisters, who thought they understood what loyalty was until it cost them everything.
I didn't set out to write about broken sisterhood... but I just couldn't stop. Because some truths don't come out in therapy or in church. They don't get said at the dinner table.
They slip out sideways and in my case, it came out in fiction, in the things characters say when the author finally stops protecting everyone.

I didn't learn storytelling in a classroom. I learned it from real life. In rooms where people said one thing... and meant something else. In conversations where silence carried more weight than words. In relationships that looked whole on the outside... but weren't.
I spent years watching how people move. What they hide. What they protect. And what they'll do to avoid truth.
That's what I write from. Not imagination. Recognition.
I've seen how systems operate. How power shifts. How decisions get made behind closed doors. And I've learned that what's said publicly... is rarely the full story.
